Porcelain Fillings in Atlanta, GA

General dentistry has changed in major ways in recent years. Advances in technology allow us to practice minimally-invasive dentistry, which means less drilling on your teeth and more innovative solutions for your mouth, teeth and smile. We invest in state-of-the-art technology and methodology that improve patient health and well-being of both adults and kids alike. Since our focus is total wellness dentistry, we only use materials and techniques that benefit your health. For example, we are a mercury-free dentistry practice and Dr. Estep has refused to use mercury fillings for her entire career. This is just one example of why we’re different.

Porcelain Fillings vs Crowns (Caps)

Typically, when you have a big cavity or a cracked tooth the dentist uses a crown (cap) to repair your tooth. Before placing the cap, your dentist has to aggressively grind your tooth down in order to fit the crown over your tooth. This “old school” practice can largely be avoided now thanks to smaller, stronger porcelain fillings. Using porcelain fillings, Dr. Estep removes only the unhealthy tooth structure and/or the decay. She then places the porcelain filling to restore and restrengthen your tooth.

Intown Smile Studio embraces minimally-invasive dentistry in every way possible. We keep up with this advancing technology so that we can continue to bring you and your family “new school” treatment options.
