Dr. George Michaels

Dr. George J. Michaels is an Atlanta native who has been practicing dentistry since 1987. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Georgia Tech before attending Emory University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors in 1987 and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Michaels maintained a private dental practice from 1990 through 2024 and has extensive experience across a broad range of general and restorative dentistry. His clinical expertise includes cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, dentures, oral surgery, and endodontics.

A lifelong member of the Georgia Dental Association, Dr. Michaels has also made community service an important part of his professional career. For 35 years, he donated dental care through the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, providing treatment to individuals in the Atlanta community who otherwise might not have had access to dental services. In 2026, he was recognized by Ailanta Magazine as a Top Dentist.

Dr. Michaels’ approach to dentistry is centered on compassion and treating each patient as he would a member of his own family. He understands that many people experience anxiety surrounding dental treatment and makes it a priority to create an environment in which patients feel comfortable, respected, and cared for.

One of the most rewarding aspects of dentistry for Dr. Michaels is restoring a patient’s smile and seeing the confidence and happiness that can result. Whether providing routine care or completing a complex restoration, his goal is to combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion for the person receiving the treatment.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Dr. Michaels maintains strong ties to the community he has served throughout his career. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys weight training, hiking, and painting.
